AMV is a manufacturer of a family of consumer and industrial products made from recycled glass, which include: Groomers Stone, Burzoff, Furzoff and Art-Rocks. AMV was one of the first tenants to join the CRBC at its Kane Street location. A large oven was moved in piece by piece and assembled in the 5,000 square foot space occupied by AMV. The same oven was recently dismantled and relocated to Car Street in La Crosse.

AMV products can be purchased online or through most major outdoor product retailers.

‚ÄčMount borah designs

In 1996, Chris Jackson, an avid bike and ski racer (both kinds), saw a growing demand for well-made, high-functioning mountain bike shorts. So he made a pair: the Sawtooth ATB Short.  At the time, Chris was an independent sales rep within the bike industry, selling to cycling stores in the Midwestern US. Chris began showing off these new wares to his dealers and guess what, they loved them and Borah Teamwear quickly transformed from an idea into a reality. Those early days were pretty humbling, Chris even remembers dumpster diving for boxes at the local grocery store and selling from the trunk of his car. However, the persistence paid off and by the end of year one, over 300 pair of baggy bike shorts were delivered.  MORE

The photographer

The studio known as The Photographer was started in 1992 at 1100 Kane St., La Crosse, by Jim Thiele a local photographer for better than 25 years. By 1996 he was looking for more space and better visibility. At that time the old Bethel Lutheran Church building went up for sale. Jim wasted no time. Bought the building and with a little bit of remodeling and renovation it became the home of The Photographer. In 1996 Jim took Carol Lindberg on as a partner and general manager. In 2001 Stephanie Sheley joined the group as the digital imaging expert and sales person. The photographer specializes in family, graduation, children, pets and wedding photography.  MORE
